What is Global Caravan Tribal Bellydance? 

Dance Discovery  

In Person  Starts -  Saturday 25th June - 16th July  1:30pm-2:30pm

Payment $55   Introductory Special.

One hour weekly session over four weeks.

Come on a journey of discovery, experiencing the playful, grounding, empowering, uplifting, community-centered 'tribe' feel of this style of dance.  Meet other women in a community-based atmosphere.  Work with breath, stretch, bring focus and time for the mind to change direction, let go of expectations, and getting it 'right'. Open up to your capacity for creativity and joy through dance. 

Looking for an inclusive and supportive dance space centred on community, and connection? Explore the world fusion style of Global Caravan Tribal Bellydance (R), inspired by dance from the Middle East, India, and Spain together with modern contemporary dance elements.

Each session provides a taster into this synchronized group-based, improvisational style (a conversation that everyone can join in), using music from around the globe from more traditional, to fusion and contemporary, modern music.  Feel the beat, move your feet, have fun, laugh, and discover some of the foundations and essence of this style of bellydance.   Discover what you can do, be kind to yourself. Find out how this style speaks to you.  

Move at your own pace during each session within the group setting.  All moves are broken down, explained, and chained into the next using a range of ways that support different ways of learning. There is an opportunity to adapt moves in support of mobility, fitness, and other health-related considerations.  

Our 4 weeks journey of discovery together.

Week  1    Earthy and Grounding Steps.   Get into your body, a sense of alignment and awareness of how it moves. Ground, feel the earth, the beat,
 

Week  2   Taking up Space.  Explore your sense of direction, postural awareness, tap into coordination and the right and left sides of the body with simple steps and combo.   
 

Week 3    Slow, Juicy, Meditative Movements.    What does it feel like to quieten, slow down and move with circular, turning, curvy-like movements?  
 

Week 4    Let go and Shimmy.    What’s a Shimmy?  Let's find out and then, wrap up our journey together with a fun celebration of our dance discovery. 

 

Suited to the curious, those with no dance experience, beginners and, those wanting a taste of another dance genre or style of bellydance.
